Code, Insurance § 26–202","heading":"","body":"(a) To qualify for a license to engage in the business of a motor club, a motor club with capital stock must have and maintain:\n(1) paid-in capital stock with a fixed nominal or par value in an amount not less than $5,000; and\n(2) surplus in an amount not less than $10,000.\n(b) A motor club formed under the laws of the State without paid-in capital stock shall have and maintain unencumbered assets, in addition to required reserves and other liabilities, in an amount equal to that required under subsection (a) of this section.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=26-202","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"3f1de8a9e01815eeee9bd662182eafccfdded8b05c26c2fc26d8318d6b3a2f52","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-26-201","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-26-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
