Code, Insurance § 26–205","heading":"","body":"(a) Within a reasonable time after an application for a license is filed, the Commissioner shall issue a license to the applicant unless:\n(1) the applicant has not met all of the requirements of this title;\n(2) in the judgment of the Commissioner, the applicant does not have sufficient financial responsibility to engage in the business of a motor club; or\n(3) the applicant has failed to make a reasonable showing that all of its owners, managers, officers, directors, or representatives are persons of reliability and integrity.\n(b) If the Commissioner disapproves the application for a license, the Commissioner shall notify the applicant as soon as practicable of the reason for the disapproval and inform the applicant of its right to a hearing on the matter as provided in § 26-209 of this subtitle.\n(c) If an application for a license filed under this subtitle is disapproved, the Commissioner shall:\n(1) retain $50 of the application fee paid by the applicant; and\n(2) return the balance of the application fee to the applicant.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=26-205","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"970306eca8a1164582f49b6a78ba5d501b33b7da4e06a318c86f9afe5a3a0364","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-26-204","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-26-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
