Code, Insurance § 27–910","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(2) “Enrollee” means an individual or member of an association or other private group arrangement entitled to health care services from a health network.\n(3) “Health care service” has the meaning stated in § 19-701 of the Health - General Article.\n(4) “Health network” means an entity that:\n(i) holds a certificate of authority under this article or Title 19, Subtitle 7 of the Health - General Article; and\n(ii) is organized to provide health care services to individuals or an enrolled population in a regional or service area.\n(b) A health network may not deny health care services to an enrollee on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, age, religion, national origin, or a protected category under the Americans with Disabilities Act.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=27-910","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"7877efd0ecfd5994ac5113cfa86bd87592c4c5cfd86e642112d72a5d87d15c96","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-27-909.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-27-911"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
