Code, Insurance § 31–126","heading":"","body":"The Maryland Health Benefit Exchange shall promote access to health insurance for child care professionals by:\n(1) partnering with:\n(i) the State Department of Education;\n(ii) prekindergarten provider hubs, as defined in § 7–1A–01 of the Education Article;\n(iii) child care associations; and\n(iv) relevant nonprofit organizations;\n(2) helping child care professionals obtain health insurance through the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange or Medicaid;\n(3) assisting child care professionals who lose Medicaid coverage with finding alternative health insurance options;\n(4) helping ensure health plan options meet the budgets and health insurance coverage needs of child care professionals and child care employers;\n(5) providing informational resources, including flyers, webinars, in–person events, and other outreach materials targeted to the child care provider community; and\n(6) assessing current levels of health care access across the child care community by conducting a survey:\n(i) developed in consultation with the State Department of Education and relevant nonprofit organizations; and\n(ii) with a particular emphasis on providers who accept child care scholarship vouchers.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=31-126","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"75bfeaf252b19922d06cd3c0fb459de34f5cde42ce9238585e245e756cdf9b5c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-31-125","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-31-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
