Code, Insurance § 5–312","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies to:\n(1) a plan of life insurance that provides for future premiums to be determined by the insurer based on estimates of future experience; and\n(2) a plan of life insurance or annuity that is of a nature that precludes determining the minimum reserves by the methods described in §§ 5-307, 5-308, and 5-311 of this subtitle.\n(b) In accordance with regulations adopted by the Commissioner, the reserves that are held under a plan described in subsection (a) of this section shall:\n(1) be appropriate in relation to the benefits and pattern of premiums for that plan; and\n(2) be computed by a method that is consistent with the principles of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=5-312","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"9a5353713caed6b85e071928d6df0fea309d39e37dd0a5a5ad9ab9c65fca67aa","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-5-311","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-5-313"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
