Code, Insurance § 8–412","heading":"","body":"(a) The incorporators shall file with the Commissioner:\n(1) the articles of incorporation of the society;\n(2) certified copies of the society’s laws and rules;\n(3) copies of all proposed:\n(i) forms of certificates;\n(ii) applications for certificates; and\n(iii) circulars to be issued by the society; and\n(4) a bond conditioned on the return to applicants of advance premiums if the organization of the society is not completed within 1 year.\n(b) The Commissioner may require any additional information that the Commissioner considers necessary.\n(c) The bond required under subsection (a) of this section must:\n(1) be issued by a surety insurer approved by the Commissioner; and\n(2) be in the amount required by the Commissioner, but not less than $300,000 nor more than $1,500,000.\n(d) Each document filed shall be in the English language.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=8-412","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"730542903911e2224a9147a5be8680c2ffe122f69c28efc925d0f75e4dc9ad66","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-8-411","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-8-413"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
