Code, Insurance § 9–217","heading":"","body":"(a) To facilitate the rehabilitation, liquidation, conservation, or dissolution of an insurer under this subtitle, the Commissioner, subject to the approval of the court, may:\n(1) borrow money;\n(2) execute, acknowledge, and deliver notes or other evidences of indebtedness for the loan;\n(3) secure the repayment of the loan by the mortgage, pledge, assignment, or transfer in trust of all or part of the property of the insurer; and\n(4) take any other action necessary and proper to consummate the loan and to provide for its repayment.\n(b) The Commissioner is not obligated personally or in an official capacity to repay a loan made under this section.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=9-217","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"58f6ab7812a8edd66366e09161c0ee8174f7920b87ec0159dac038aede10617d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-9-216","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-9-218"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
