Code, Insurance § 9–418","heading":"","body":"(a) To allow proper legal action by the Corporation on any matter germane to its powers or duties, each proceeding in which the impaired insurer is a party in a court in the State shall be stayed for 60 days after the date an order of liquidation, rehabilitation, or conservation is final.\n(b) If a court enters a judgment under a decision, order, verdict, or finding based on default, the Corporation may:\n(1) apply to have the judgment, decision, order, verdict, or finding set aside by the same court that made it; and\n(2) defend against the suit on the merits.","path":["Article - Insurance"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gin\u0026section=9-418","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:28Z","sha256":"cc76e76ebed418cb1bce8938458ec465dc9cd9351e58560eac5f2846b46008a5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-9-417","next":"us-md/md.-code-insurance-9-419"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
