Code, Labor and Employment § 10–308","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The Board consists of five members, appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate.\n(2) Of the five members of the Board:\n(i) two shall have substantial experience as officers or employees of a property and casualty insurance company;\n(ii) one shall have substantial experience in the field of accounting or finance;\n(iii) one shall be a policyholder of workers’ compensation insurance issued in the State; and\n(iv) one shall represent the general public.\n(b) Before taking office, each appointee to the Board shall take the oath required by Article I, § 9 of the Maryland Constitution.\n(c) (1) The term of a member is 4 years.\n(2) At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(3) A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(d) The Governor may remove a member for incompetence or misconduct.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=10-308","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"a3c0231992d148b241d632746120346956a7af603718e08c19f62d22d6e1ea97","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-10-307","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-10-309"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
