Code, Labor and Employment § 3–207","heading":"","body":"(a) Subject to this section, the Commissioner may issue a special permit for a minor of any age to be employed as an entertainer, model, or performer.\n(b) An applicant for a special permit shall submit to the Commissioner a completed application on the form that the Commissioner provides.\n(c) The Commissioner shall issue a special permit if, after investigation, the Commissioner is satisfied that:\n(1) the employment will not be detrimental to the health or welfare of the minor;\n(2) the minor will be supervised adequately; and\n(3) the education of the minor will not be neglected.\n(d) A special permit shall contain notarized signatures that show the consent of:\n(1) a parent of the minor or a person standing in place of the parent; and\n(2) the employer.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=3-207","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"449cb80720517a6acd1f417f7a29bb8b72e4028ea23d1263aa26b702d49b63da","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-3-206","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-3-208"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
