Code, Labor and Employment § 3–216","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not:\n(1) interfere with or hinder the performance of any duty of the Commissioner under this subtitle; or\n(2) knowingly give false information to the Commissioner.\n(b) A person may not knowingly:\n(1) employ a minor in violation of a provision of this subtitle; or\n(2) allow a minor to be employed in violation of a provision of this subtitle.\n(c) (1) A person who violates any provision of subsection (a) of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 90 days or both.\n(2) A person who violates any provision of subsection (b) of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=3-216","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"7bd756c141742baebb906f3ea1fe391b60e99ff1f9a2f56be5d035b62222db5e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-3-215","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-3-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
