Code, Labor and Employment § 5–1101","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) (1) “Health care facility” means:\n(i) a hospital; or\n(ii) a State residential center.\n(2) “Health care facility” includes:\n(i) a subacute care unit of a hospital; and\n(ii) a State–operated hospital.\n(c) “Health care worker” means an individual employed by a health care facility.\n(d) “Hospital” has the meaning stated in § 19–301 of the Health – General Article.\n(e) “State residential center” has the meaning stated in § 7–101 of the Health – General Article.\n(f) “Workplace safety” means the prevention of any physical assault or threatening behavior against a health care worker in a health care facility.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=5-1101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"86b6cdecafd8435d42c5258685eef88ae476fcf4479a3d0dcdc9247de058302c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-5-1004","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-5-1102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
