Code, Labor and Employment § 5–308","heading":"","body":"(a) Subject to subsection (b) of this section, the Board shall advise, consult with, propose, and recommend to the Commissioner reasonable regulations:\n(1) to prevent conditions that are detrimental to safety and health in each employment or place of employment in the State; and\n(2) that the Board finds are necessary to protect and to improve the safety and health of employees on the basis of circumstantial evidence and information that:\n(i) is developed by the Commissioner;\n(ii) is available to the Commissioner; or\n(iii) is submitted by an interested person to the Board at a public hearing held under § 5–310(d) of this subtitle.\n(b) To carry out the requirements of subsection (a) of this section with respect to public bodies, the Board shall:\n(1) give specific consideration to the workplace conditions and safety and health concerns of employees; and\n(2) recommend higher standards, if warranted.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=5-308","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"bb8046b8edee4111cb22189cd13cdfd2ba16f32889cce5efe4c3fb81dd07ba9d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-5-306","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-5-308.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
