Code, Labor and Employment § 8–104","heading":"","body":"With the advice and help of the State and local advisory councils, the Secretary shall take all appropriate steps to:\n(1) reduce and prevent unemployment;\n(2) encourage and assist in the adoption of practical methods of vocational training, retraining, and guidance;\n(3) advise, assist, and conduct investigations regarding the establishment and operation by a county, a municipality, or the State, of reserves for public works to be used in times of business depression and unemployment;\n(4) promote the reemployment of unemployed workers throughout the State in each other way that may be feasible; and\n(5) conduct investigations and research studies and publish the results.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=8-104","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"e706445641582de040cc70fb8ecde5bb74b63b8a48f6ba3b58d0dbbcf6faab1f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-8-103","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-8-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
