Code, Labor and Employment § 8–307","heading":"","body":"(a) In a civil action to enforce this title, the Secretary or Board of Appeals and the State may be represented by:\n(1) the Attorney General; or\n(2) any qualified attorney who:\n(i) is a salaried employee of the Secretary or Board of Appeals; and\n(ii) on recommendation of the Attorney General, is designated to represent the Secretary or Board of Appeals and the State.\n(b) A criminal action for violation of any provision of this title or regulation adopted under this title shall be prosecuted by the State’s Attorney of the county in which:\n(1) the employer has a place of business;\n(2) the violator resides; or\n(3) the violator has filed for benefits to which the violator was not entitled.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=8-307","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"99e3d75892b426febec2bee393a9b1a5bb91a6c296a7aeb7b0636901cb7c9817","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-8-306","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-8-308"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
