Code, Labor and Employment § 9–1011","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) When the amount of the Fund equals at least $5,000,000, the payment of assessments by employers and insurers is suspended.\n(2) The Director shall notify each self-insured employer and insurer of the suspension of the payment of assessments under paragraph (1) of this subsection.\n(b) (1) Payment of assessments shall be resumed if:\n(i) the amount of the Fund becomes less than $3,000,000 because of payments made under § 9-1002 of this subtitle or other payments; or\n(ii) the Director determines that payments that are likely to be made from the Fund in the next 3 months will reduce the amount of the Fund to less than $3,000,000.\n(2) When payment of assessments is to be resumed under paragraph (1) of this subsection, the Director shall notify each self-insured employer and insurer that payment of assessments is to:\n(i) resume on a specified date; and\n(ii) continue until the amount of the Fund becomes at least $5,000,000.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=9-1011","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"733c0e587ca4de409b2c40b26c82785991559dba960f277f5382020fa66b9b44","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-1010","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-1012"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
