Code, Labor and Employment § 9–309","heading":"","body":"(a) The Commission may adopt regulations to carry out this title.\n(b) To carry out this title, a member of the Commission, the Secretary of the Commission, a special examiner, or an inspector may:\n(1) administer an oath; or\n(2) certify to an official act.\n(c) (1) To carry out this title, a member of the Commission, the Secretary of the Commission, a special examiner, or any inspector may take a deposition as provided by law.\n(2) In an investigation, the Commission may cause the deposition of a witness to be taken as provided by law.\n(d) (1) The Commission shall have a seal inscribed with the words “Workers’ Compensation Commission, State of Maryland -- Official Seal”.\n(2) The Commission shall use the seal for the authentication of its awards, orders, and proceedings.\n(e) The Commission may approve the form of a workers’ compensation insurance policy under § 19-402 of the Insurance Article.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=9-309","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"bad8930a96dab8294f0c2fcb0c6983f0dcb92960a98af1454e653cdb0a134cdf","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-308","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
