Code, Labor and Employment § 9–501","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided, each employer of a covered employee shall provide compensation in accordance with this title to:\n(1) the covered employee for an accidental personal injury sustained by the covered employee; or\n(2) the dependents of the covered employee for death of the covered employee:\n(i) resulting from an accidental personal injury sustained by the covered employee; and\n(ii) occurring within 7 years after the date of the accidental personal injury.\n(b) An employer is liable to provide compensation in accordance with subsection (a) of this section, regardless of fault as to a cause of the accidental personal injury.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=9-501","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"0ea043a93ee66b72d9b53ad211112d9bdf1a7e1721251b85ee1518fffbcf6454","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-410","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
