Code, Labor and Employment § 9–622","heading":"","body":"(a) If, under an initial claim filed on or after January 1, 1988, temporary total disability benefits are reopened under § 9-736(b) of this title, the employer or its insurer shall pay the covered employee compensation that equals two-thirds of the average weekly wage of the covered employee, but:\n(1) does not exceed the lesser of:\n(i) the average weekly wage of the State on the date of reopening; or\n(ii) 150% of the initial award; and\n(2) is not less than the initial award.\n(b) The employer or its insurer shall pay the compensation for the period that the covered employee is temporarily totally disabled.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=9-622","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"6d2bc73ad6a781c3d13abd8719b3cef7b88639206fcbfbac42b9da170f310197","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-621","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-625"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
