Code, Labor and Employment § 9–714","heading":"","body":"(a) When the Commission receives a claim, the Commission:\n(1) may investigate the claim; and\n(2) on application of any party to the claim, shall order a hearing.\n(b) (1) The Commission shall make or deny an award within 30 days:\n(i) after the mailing of the notice of the filing of a claim; or\n(ii) if a hearing is held, after the hearing is concluded.\n(2) The decision shall be recorded in the principal office of the Commission, and a copy of the decision shall be sent to each party’s attorney of record or, if the party is unrepresented, to the party:\n(i) by first–class mail; or\n(ii) by electronic means, if the party’s attorney of record consents or, if the party is unrepresented, the party consents.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=9-714","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"f12f2781b278781e2931c0535dc99b103dd7f485a2984b428be281d83f711982","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-713","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-715"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
