Code, Labor and Employment § 9–738","heading":"","body":"(a) This section is not subject to the provisions set forth in § 6–201 of the Courts Article.\n(b) To take an appeal, a person shall file an order of appeal with the circuit court for the county where:\n(1) the covered employee resides;\n(2) the employer has its principal place of business; or\n(3) the accidental personal injury, compensable hernia, or last injurious exposure to the hazards of the occupational disease occurred.\n(c) If an appeal is taken to a circuit court that does not have jurisdiction, the court shall transfer the appeal to the proper circuit court on the motion of a party.\n(d) If a party to an appeal suggests in writing and under oath that the party cannot obtain a fair trial in the circuit court in which the appeal is pending, the circuit court shall transfer the appeal to another circuit court.","path":["Article - Labor and Employment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gle\u0026section=9-738","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:38Z","sha256":"6661a1f76dd2f8fda7fe34460b4a612c77447aeb1edc722cef29974f504a2633","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-737","next":"us-md/md.-code-labor-and-employment-9-739"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
