Code, Land Use § 10–302","heading":"","body":"Zoning regulations adopted by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City under this subtitle shall:\n(1) be in accordance with the plan;\n(2) be designed to:\n(i) control street congestion;\n(ii) promote health, public safety, and general welfare;\n(iii) provide adequate light and air;\n(iv) promote the conservation of natural resources;\n(v) prevent environmental pollution;\n(vi) properly manage growth and development; and\n(vii) promote or facilitate adequate transportation, water, sewerage, schools, recreation, parks, and other public facilities; and\n(3) include reasonable consideration for:\n(i) the character of the district or zone and its suitability for particular uses;\n(ii) the conservation of the value of buildings and other structures; and\n(iii) encouragement for orderly development and the most appropriate use of land throughout Baltimore City.","path":["Article - Land Use"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glu\u0026section=10-302","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:47Z","sha256":"0ae46b71780037029b84c14fbf26bc700856116640ac893cad9f57bbd1f921cd","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-land-use-10-301","next":"us-md/md.-code-land-use-10-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
