Code, Land Use § 16–210","heading":"","body":"(a) A mediator may be used in the collective bargaining process whenever:\n(1) the Commission and the employee organization agree to mediation; or\n(2) an impasse results, and the Commission or the employee organization requests mediation.\n(b) (1) The mediator shall be selected jointly by the Commission and the employee organization from a list supplied by the American Arbitration Association or the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.\n(2) If the Commission and the employee organization are unable to agree on the selection of a mediator, the labor relations administrator shall select the mediator.\n(c) The Commission and the employee organization shall share equally the costs of mediation.","path":["Article - Land Use"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glu\u0026section=16-210","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:47Z","sha256":"96aa6c2e2904e3ed5a35d64fe4a2705a5c8b64c95e5fc635e4e8a1442a297ab9","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-land-use-16-209","next":"us-md/md.-code-land-use-16-210.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
