Code, Land Use § 21–101","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies to:\n(1) the making of the appropriate general plan;\n(2) any part, amendment, extension, or addition to the plan;\n(3) the protection of and the carrying out of the plan; and\n(4) the exercise of any:\n(i) planning, zoning, or subdivision control powers in the regional district; and\n(ii) other powers granted in this title to the Commission or to the Montgomery County Council or the Prince George’s County Council.\n(b) The purpose of the plan is to:\n(1) guide and accomplish a coordinated, comprehensive, adjusted, and systematic development of the regional district;\n(2) coordinate and adjust the development of the regional district with public and private development of other parts of the State and of the District of Columbia; and\n(3) protect and promote the public health, safety, and welfare.","path":["Article - Land Use"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glu\u0026section=21-101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:47Z","sha256":"22096e18f52651e0e728946b20d4885c1d8d67fd336c3f172e47ed97702f0441","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-land-use-20-709","next":"us-md/md.-code-land-use-21-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
