Code, Land Use § 8–303","heading":"","body":"(a) In reviewing an application, a commission shall:\n(1) use the guidelines adopted under § 8–301 of this subtitle; and\n(2) consider:\n(i) the historic, archaeological, or architectural significance of the site or structure and its relationship to the historic, archaeological, or architectural significance of the surrounding area;\n(ii) the relationship of the exterior architectural features of the structure to the remainder of the structure and to the surrounding area;\n(iii) the general compatibility of exterior design, scale, proportion, arrangement, texture, and materials proposed to be used; and\n(iv) any other factors, including aesthetics, that the commission considers pertinent.\n(b) A commission shall consider only the exterior features of a structure.","path":["Article - Land Use"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glu\u0026section=8-303","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:47Z","sha256":"3842d2ae303d0e980aae789e4e3830138ed8e490b4b1de4e13215fac5b969f9f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-land-use-8-302","next":"us-md/md.-code-land-use-8-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
