Code, Local Government § 1–1101","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Bond” means a bond, note, or other similar instrument that a county or\nmunicipality issues under this subtitle.\n(c) “Chief executive” means the president, chair, mayor, county executive,\nor any other chief executive officer of a county or municipality.\n(d) “Commercial property” means real property that is:\n(1) not designed principally or intended for human habitation; or\n(2) used for human habitation and is improved by more than four\nsingle family dwelling units.\n(e) (1) “Environmental remediation project” means a project that is\nintended to remove environmental or health hazards.\n(2) “Environmental remediation project” includes:\n(i) a project that promotes indoor air and water quality;\n(ii) asbestos remediation;\n(iii) lead paint removal; and\n(iv) mold remediation.\n(f) “Program” means a clean energy loan program established under this\nsubtitle.\n(g) (1) “Resiliency project” means a project that is intended to increase\nthe capacity of a property to withstand natural disasters and the effects of climate\nchange.\n(2) “Resiliency project” includes:\n(i) a flood mitigation project;\n(ii) a stormwater management project;\n(iii) a project to increase fire or wind resistance;\n(iv) a project to increase the capacity of a natural system;\n(v) an inundation adaptation project;\n(vi) alternative vehicle charging infrastructure; and\n(vii) energy storage.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=1-1101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"580e8f5e037b8c6505795248ca3b9346547e95165619d0b515366b6d5faf1831","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1017","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
