Code, Local Government § 1–1107","heading":"","body":"(a) A county or municipality may incur general obligation debt for the\npurposes under this subtitle.\n(b) Subject to subsection (c) of this section, a county or municipality may\nissue bonds to finance loans made under a program in accordance with the procedures\nof the county or municipality for authorization to sell and issue other evidences of\nindebtedness.\n(c) A bond issued in accordance with an ordinance or a resolution that\npledges the full faith and credit of a county or municipality is subject to:\n(1) any applicable requirement of the Maryland Constitution and the\ncounty’s or municipality’s charter and laws on referendum for the issuance of general\nobligation debt; and\n(2) any limitation imposed by public general law, public local law, or\ncharter on general obligation debt of the county or municipality.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=1-1107","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"ffeacb93236af9a320c45791c424cefb4ce8c64d95cab53ec260d36042d498d5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1106","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
