Code, Local Government § 1–1310","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “swimming pool” means a pool that is owned and\noperated by the governing body of a county or municipality.\n(b) (1) Each county or municipality that owns or operates a swimming\npool shall develop and implement an automated external defibrillator program that\nmeets the requirements of § 13–517 of the Education Article for each swimming pool\nowned or operated by the county or municipality.\n(2) The program required under paragraph (1) of this subsection\nshall include provisions that:\n(i) ensure an automated external defibrillator is provided on–\nsite; and\n(ii) an individual trained in the operation and use of an\nautomated external defibrillator is present at each swimming pool.\n(c) The Maryland Department of Health and the Maryland Institute for\nEmergency Medical Services Systems jointly shall adopt regulations that:\n(1) establish guidelines for periodic inspections and annual\nmaintenance of the automated external defibrillators; and\n(2) assist each county or municipality in carrying out the provisions\nof this section.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=1-1310","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"b0fabd8873e14b33c8d53e15012d6ac267fb6a83bea87fe701480c85ab975c5a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1309","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1311"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
