Code, Local Government § 1–1312","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(2) “Alarm system contractor” has the meaning stated in § 12–806 of\nthis article.\n(3) “Alarm user” has the meaning stated in § 12–806 of this article.\n(b) This section applies to all counties and municipalities.\n(c) If a county or municipality requires an alarm user or an alarm system\ncontractor to register an alarm system, the county or municipality may impose a\npenalty against an alarm system contractor for failure to register an alarm system\nonly if:\n(1) the alarm system contractor requested a dispatch to an alarm\nuser; and\n(2) the alarm system contractor failed to register the alarm system.\n(d) If a county or municipality requires an alarm user or an alarm system\ncontractor to renew an alarm system’s registration, the county or municipality may\nimpose a penalty against an alarm system contractor for failure to renew an alarm\nsystem’s registration only if:\n(1) the alarm system contractor requested a dispatch to an alarm\nuser;\n(2) the alarm system contractor failed to renew the alarm system’s\nregistration; and\n(3) the county or municipality provided the alarm system contractor\nnotice that:\n(i) the alarm system’s registration expired;\n(ii) the alarm user or the alarm system contractor did not\nrenew the alarm system’s registration; or\n(iii) the alarm system’s registration has been suspended.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=1-1312","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"60eb0911bc2017949dea7a1fbb994b21a8609e274f955fb82191fa2e4c250a10","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1311","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1314"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
