Code, Local Government § 1–1315","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies to all counties and municipalities.\n(b) (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this subsection, an animal control\nfacility operated by a county or municipality shall waive the adoption fee for a dog or\ncat adopted by a veteran who presents a valid driver’s license or identification card\nissued by the Motor Vehicle Administration that includes a notation of veteran status\nin accordance with § 12–302 of the Transportation Article.\n(2) An animal control facility may limit the number of adoption fee\nwaivers granted to an individual under this subsection to one dog and one cat within\na 6–month period.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=1-1315","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"c35e9459d4e7021a334355400930eebaae67d2fec462992e0249d9439c6bafc0","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1314","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1316"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
