Code, Local Government § 1–1501","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(2) (i) “Construction” means the process of building, altering,\nrepairing, renovating, improving, or demolishing any structure, building, or other\nimprovement to real property.\n(ii) “Construction” includes systemic renovation projects as\ndefined in COMAR 23.03.02.15.\n(3) “School facility” means a structure, a building, a parking facility,\nan athletic facility, a testing facility, or any other facility in the State that is used for\nthe education of students.\n(b) To the extent practicable, each county or municipality shall expedite the\nprocess for the application and issuance of a permit related to or required for the\nconstruction of a public or private school facility.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=1-1501","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"e87805ea347c1bc6d8dca74d29b20ac55aee95a28e0eaba47406cddd0cf66ae8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-1431","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-4-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
