Code, Local Government § 1–207","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “telework” means to work at a location other than a\ntraditional office setting or an employee’s usual and customary worksite, including:\n(1) the employee’s home;\n(2) a satellite office; and\n(3) a telework center.\n(b) This section applies to:\n(1) all employees of a governmental entity of a county or a\nmunicipality; and\n(2) all governmental entities of a county or a municipality.\n(c) Each governing body, or the governing body’s designee, shall:\n(1) establish a countywide or municipality–wide telework program;\nand\n(2) adopt a countywide or municipality–wide telework policy and\ntelework guidelines.\n(d) (1) The head of a governmental entity of a county or municipality\nmay designate the positions for which an employee would be eligible to telework.\n(2) Each governmental entity of a county or municipality, in its\ndiscretion, may maximize the number of eligible employees participating in a\ncountywide or municipality–wide telework program established under subsection (c)\nof this section.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=1-207","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"089ab1340bb5b680880e4b355f035306961a54d293c1ac075cbad7efdac0d451","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-206","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-1-208"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
