Code, Local Government § 10–317","heading":"","body":"(a) After reasonable notice and a public hearing, a county may enact local\nlaws to protect and promote public safety, health, morals, comfort, and welfare,\nrelating to:\n(1) the location, construction, repair, and use of streets and\nhighways;\n(2) the disposal of wastes;\n(3) the control of soil erosion and the preservation of the natural\ntopography; or\n(4) the erection, construction, repair, and use of buildings and other\nstructures.\n(b) A county may enact local laws to provide for appropriate administrative\nand judicial proceedings, remedies, and sanctions to administer and enforce local\nlaws enacted under subsection (a) of this section.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=10-317","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"97eeccb6e36424c41974fdcce177df93256c58be2c42723b26faac6b7e6adaef","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-10-316","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-10-318"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
