Code, Local Government § 11–202","heading":"","body":"(a) Any official authorized by the county commissioners to serve a citation\nmay serve a citation on a person who the official believes is committing a civil\ninfraction.\n(b) The issuing authority shall retain a copy of the citation.\n(c) The citation shall contain:\n(1) a certification by the official who issued the citation attesting to\nthe truth of the matter set forth in the citation;\n(2) the name and address of the defendant;\n(3) the nature of the civil infraction;\n(4) the location and time that the civil infraction occurred;\n(5) the amount of the fine assessed;\n(6) the manner, location, and time in which the fine may be paid to\nthe county; and\n(7) notice of the defendant’s right to elect to stand trial.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=11-202","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"8089ff96deda776d6ad6f28d8c2127d2051dd9b024651df4c1be0e4a6e7264c8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-11-201","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-11-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
