Code, Local Government § 12–107","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies to all counties except Baltimore City.\n(b) The provisions of §§ 9–105 and 9–106 of this article apply to an act, an\nordinance, or a resolution adopted by a commission county under this section.\n(c) The governing body of a county may enact a law or regulation:\n(1) designed to prevent conflicts between the private interests and\npublic duties of county officers or employees, including the governing body; and\n(2) to govern the conduct and actions of county officers and\nemployees, including the governing body, in performing their public duties.\n(d) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, the\ngoverning body of a county may enact a law or regulation to provide for a penalty,\nincluding a fine, a forfeiture, an imprisonment, or a removal from office for violation\nof any law or regulation enacted under subsection (c) of this section.\n(2) The governing body of Calvert County shall enact a law or\nregulation that authorizes the governing body to remove a county elected official from\noffice for violations of any law or regulation enacted under subsection (c) of this\nsection or § 5–807(a)(1) of the General Provisions Article relating to conflicts of\ninterest.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=12-107","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"ab72538acf8934810217e27c93e1151183f475a45b65101c04d9cf5d23493d2c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-106","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
