Code, Local Government § 12–209","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies only to Carroll County.\n(b) Notwithstanding any other law, the Board of County Commissioners\nmay not establish:\n(1) a group insurance program to be offered to the county\ncommissioners, in any year, that offers different benefits or a different county subsidy\nallowance than the group insurance program offered to full–time county employees\nfor that year; or\n(2) a defined benefit or defined contribution pension plan to be\noffered to the county commissioners that is separate from a defined benefit or defined\ncontribution pension plan offered to full–time county employees.\n(c) A county commissioner:\n(1) each year may participate in the group insurance program offered\nto full–time county employees, and may receive the same county subsidy allowed to\nfull–time county employees for that year; and\n(2) each year may participate in a defined benefit or defined\ncontribution pension plan offered to full–time county employees, but is not eligible\nfor any employer matching contribution.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=12-209","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"d396383e8f31ae40547a430478899238dbffd1613e15300b9e0944f858b5836f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-208","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
