Code, Local Government § 12–301","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies only to commission counties.\n(b) The provisions of §§ 9–105 and 9–106 of this article apply to an act, an\nordinance, or a resolution adopted under this section.\n(c) The county commissioners shall:\n(1) establish a competitive bidding process for awarding contracts for\nservices or the purchase of supplies if the contract exceeds $15,000;\n(2) require a bond in connection with a contract, regardless of the\namount; and\n(3) if no bids are submitted in response to a request for bids, obtain\nthe services or supplies in a manner that the county commissioners consider\nappropriate.\n(d) In Somerset County, subsection (c) of this section does not apply to a\ncontract solely for design or consultation services.\n(e) In St. Mary’s County, subsection (c) of this section applies only to a\ncontract for services or the purchase of supplies if the contract exceeds $50,000.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=12-301","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"7d148c0f2c67b2aa082ea848103cd56e70f53466841fc95fd66c6440bd239c4f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-209","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
