Code, Local Government § 12–508","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies to all counties, except Baltimore City.\n(b) This section does not apply to fire hydrants in a municipality.\n(c) The governing body of a county may, by resolution, regulate the location\nand construction of fire hydrants.\n(d) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, a person\nwho violates a resolution adopted under this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and\non conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $100.\n(2) In Calvert County, a person who violates a resolution adopted\nunder this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not\nexceeding $500.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=12-508","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"1c286349da9de9b18ba6cba7bdbef64ffeb2189cb24da412328d139e44ecb3a7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-507","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-511"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
