Code, Local Government § 12–530","heading":"","body":"(a) This section does not apply to a privately owned road in Calvert County\nthat was constructed on or before September 30, 2011.\n(b) By ordinance, the County Commissioners of Calvert County may:\n(1) regulate the grading, constructing, improving, maintaining, and\nrepairing of county roads and new roads intended for future public use, including\nroads proposed for any subdivision approved by the Calvert County Planning\nCommission, whether recorded or proposed, including sidewalks, curbs, gutters,\ndriveway entrances, storm drainage facilities, and appurtenances to be located in the\nsubdivision;\n(2) establish standards for utility cuts in and across county rights–\nof–way;\n(3) regulate access to county–owned roads;\n(4) establish minimum standards to which a new road in a\nsubdivision in Calvert County must be constructed before the issuance of a building\npermit for a lot served by the road;\n(5) regulate the engineering and constructing of any new public road,\nbridge, sidewalk, curb, gutter, and storm drainage facility proposed for acceptance\ninto the county roads system;\n(6) regulate the acceptance of any new public road, bridge, sidewalk,\ncurb, gutter, and storm drainage facility into the county roads system;\n(7) establish fees to defray the cost of reviewing plans and performing\ninspections for the construction of roads and for utility cuts in accordance with an\nordinance enacted under this section; and\n(8) provide for a civil penalty for violation of an ordinance enacted\nunder this section.\n(c) A violation of an ordinance enacted under this section shall be enforced\nin the same manner and to the same extent as provided for municipal infractions\nunder §§ 6–108 through 6–115 of this article.\n(d) In addition to any remedies provided for under an ordinance enacted\nunder this section, the County Commissioners of Calvert County may seek other\nremedies provided by law.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=12-530","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"7b8674c7e51f4fde32e622b4afa49d84feb550a1de65746774292b549e30b300","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-529","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-531"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
