Code, Local Government § 12–534","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The County Commissioners of Charles County shall designate\ncounty roads that are not accessible for through traffic by motor vehicles that are over\n26,000 pounds.\n(2) The designation of county roads shall:\n(i) have a reasonable relationship to the construction, use,\nand character of the roads; and\n(ii) be designed to assure the continued safety and good\ncondition of the roads.\n(b) The County Commissioners of Charles County shall provide for the\ninstallation of traffic control devices that give notice of the restricted access to the\ndesignated roads on or at the entrances to the roads.\n(c) A person who violates an ordinance or regulation adopted under this\nsection is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not\nexceeding 60 days or a fine not exceeding $1,000 or both.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=12-534","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"2876a16a051a459293c1f5c558abdc828e95884128dc05082059238822ab128b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-533","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-535"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
