Code, Local Government § 12–802","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies to all counties except:\n(1) Anne Arundel County;\n(2) Baltimore City;\n(3) Baltimore County;\n(4) Cecil County;\n(5) Charles County;\n(6) Howard County;\n(7) Prince George’s County;\n(8) Queen Anne’s County;\n(9) Wicomico County; and\n(10) Worcester County.\n(b) The provisions of §§ 9–105 and 9–106 of this article apply to an act, an\nordinance, or a resolution adopted by a commission county under this section.\n(c) The governing body of a county may:\n(1) provide for the appointment of the county police;\n(2) establish the duties of the county police;\n(3) set the compensation of the county police; and\n(4) appoint a special commission or commissioner to be in charge of\nthe county police.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=12-802","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"d5f0f58e9c567a731d3fd8d792a07d1644a604203e83c55c9cf20800cd4fa231","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-801","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-803"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
