Code, Local Government § 12–804","heading":"","body":"(a) Notwithstanding Title 11, Subtitle 2 of the Land Use Article and any\nother provision of law, the County Commissioners of St. Mary’s County may provide\nthat:\n(1) a violation of an ordinance is punishable as a misdemeanor and\nenforced in the same manner and to the same extent as a violation under § 6–101 of\nthis article; and\n(2) a violation of an ordinance is a civil infraction and shall be\nprosecuted in the same manner and to the same extent as provided for a municipal\ninfraction under Title 6 of this article.\n(b) Every day that a violation continues is a separate civil infraction.\n(c) In addition to other remedies provided by this section, the county may\nbring an action for an injunction against a person who violates an ordinance, a rule,\nor a regulation to require the correction or elimination of a violation.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=12-804","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"2cff654b1aecdf98ad46780e5facf6276f46e8b5ec04bb6af4d929b823859827","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-803","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-12-805"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
