Code, Local Government § 13–506","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a person who\nviolates a rule or regulation adopted under § 13–503 of this subtitle is guilty of a\nmisdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine of not less than $25.\n(2) Each day on which a violation continues is a separate offense.\n(b) (1) This subsection applies only to a code county in the Western\nMaryland class.\n(2) The county commissioners may:\n(i) provide that a violation of a rule or regulation adopted\nunder § 13–503 of this subtitle is a civil infraction under Title 11, Subtitle 2 of this\narticle; or\n(ii) abate, or contract for the abatement of, a violation at the\nexpense of the owner of the real property on which the violation occurred.\n(3) (i) An unpaid charge imposed on an owner of real property\nunder paragraph (2)(ii) of this subsection is a lien against the real property on which\nthe violation occurred.\n(ii) The lien shall be recorded in the office of the clerk for the\ncounty where the violation occurred.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=13-506","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"a27a941ca05ede72c5f799eb69f0cb269483a47a41a0e7a672e35b39df755cb1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-505","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-507"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
