Code, Local Government § 13–606","heading":"","body":"(a) By ordinance, the County Commissioners of Washington County:\n(1) may establish methods to:\n(i) provide supplemental payments to the Maryland\nAgricultural Land Preservation Foundation, independently or under a lease\narrangement with an outside funding source; or\n(ii) purchase development rights in an agricultural\npreservation district; and\n(2) in accordance with regulations and procedures adopted by the\nMaryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation, may provide for:\n(i) the establishment of agricultural preservation districts;\nand\n(ii) standards and guidelines under which real property is\neligible for inclusion in an agricultural preservation district.\n(b) (1) The methods to provide supplemental payments or purchase\ndevelopment rights under subsection (a)(1) of this section may include the creation of\na long–term obligation of Washington County in the nature or form of an installment\npurchase agreement.\n(2) An obligation authorized under paragraph (1) of this subsection\nis exempt from §§ 19–205 and 19–206 of this article.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=13-606","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"8620fc1e1376f4bd5e79ed938f1d9701741372d56b20e77c0d7aa25f09c25e9c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-605","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-701"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
