Code, Local Government § 13–705","heading":"","body":"(a) By ordinance or resolution, the County Commissioners of Cecil County\nmay:\n(1) provide for the control of air pollution, water pollution, and\nindustrial waste coming from land in the county;\n(2) provide for the appointment of inspectors to enforce an ordinance\nor a resolution adopted under item (1) of this subsection; and\n(3) establish penalties for violations of an ordinance or a resolution\nadopted under item (1) of this subsection.\n(b) Before adopting an ordinance or a resolution under this section, the\nCounty Commissioners of Cecil County shall:\n(1) publish a summary of the proposed ordinance or resolution in one\nor more newspapers of general circulation in the county for at least 3 weeks that\nspecifies the date for a public hearing;\n(2) hold a public hearing; and\n(3) give notice that copies of the proposed ordinance or resolution\nmay be obtained on application to the clerk of the County Commissioners.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=13-705","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"2a8d940b0b6a8756637077ad124408ce87f77da7c16d3ce7e8ac5c66eebbf0a8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-704","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-706"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
