Code, Local Government § 13–901","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies to all counties except:\n(1) Anne Arundel County;\n(2) Baltimore City;\n(3) Baltimore County;\n(4) Cecil County;\n(5) Charles County;\n(6) Howard County;\n(7) Prince George’s County;\n(8) Queen Anne’s County; and\n(9) Worcester County.\n(b) The provisions of §§ 9–105 and 9–106 of this article apply to an act, an\nordinance, or a resolution adopted by a commission county under this section.\n(c) The governing body of a county may:\n(1) regulate the construction of buildings and signs;\n(2) adopt a building code;\n(3) provide for enforcement of the code;\n(4) require permits for the construction of buildings and signs;\n(5) impose permit and inspection fees;\n(6) provide for inspection of buildings and structures;\n(7) provide for condemnation of dangerous or insecure buildings or\nstructures as provided under other public general law; and\n(8) require dangerous or insecure buildings and structures to be\nmade safe or demolished.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=13-901","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"ac01688d515b9ce4d1dd9f8b1b26e7a0f341930d51054f3c9df234a91075c41e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-805","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-902"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
