Code, Local Government § 13–906","heading":"","body":"(a) The County Commissioners of St. Mary’s County may adopt a building\ncode to provide for constructing, maintaining, and repairing buildings and other\nstructures.\n(b) (1) A building code adopted under this section may incorporate by\nreference all or part of a code proposed by any governmental unit or a trade or\nprofessional association for general distribution in printed form as a standard model\non any subject relating to constructing, maintaining, or repairing buildings or\nstructures.\n(2) Any later amendment to a code or part of a code that is adopted\nby reference is not effective until the County Commissioners of St. Mary’s County\nincorporate the specific amendment into the county’s building code.\n(c) The County Commissioners of St. Mary’s County may appoint inspectors\nto enforce the building code.\n(d) The County Commissioners of St. Mary’s County may provide penalties\nfor a violation of the building code.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=13-906","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"e310f9c265c95098c5207a3ebd473a1173f7f1433d6dece8a637e4ada23c0e83","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-905","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-13-907"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
