Code, Local Government § 17–208","heading":"","body":"(a) The State Treasurer shall contact the governmental entity to seek\ncompliance if a governmental entity does not maintain a local investment policy or\nlocal debt policy as required by this subtitle.\n(b) On request of the State Treasurer, a financial officer shall provide to the\nState Treasurer, in the format and time frame requested:\n(1) a report of the investment portfolio of the governmental entity; or\n(2) a report of the debt portfolio of the governmental entity in the\nformat required under § 16–103 of this article.\n(c) If, after being contacted by the State Treasurer, a governmental entity\ndoes not comply with this section, the State Treasurer shall notify the Joint\nCommittee on the Management of Public Funds in writing.\n(d) The Joint Committee on the Management of Public Funds may request\nthe Attorney General to seek judicial enforcement of this subtitle against the\ngovernmental entity.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=17-208","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"10dd1b5091f22c1bedf9615a8267a1afa0948958f4f4a6226147dc878ffee864","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-17-207","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-17-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
