Code, Local Government § 17–301","heading":"","body":"(a) In this part the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Authorized participant” means:\n(1) the governing body of each county or municipality;\n(2) a county board of education;\n(3) the governing body of each road, drainage, improvement,\nconstruction, or soil conservation district or commission in the State;\n(4) the Upper Potomac River Commission;\n(5) any other political subdivision or body politic and corporate of the\nState;\n(6) a local government insurance pool formed under Title 19, Subtitle\n6 of the Insurance Article; or\n(7) on approval of the State Treasurer, a unit of State government or\nan entity created by the State if the funds of the unit or entity are not State money\nover which the Treasurer has investment authority.\n(c) “Pool” means the Local Government Investment Pool.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=17-301","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"684c613a786f68a1549f73f65d01944f23fc388f27762e762a73d3587b26ff1b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-17-208","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-17-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
