Code, Local Government § 18–203","heading":"","body":"(a) The Mayor and City Council of Ocean City may:\n(1) employ and set the salaries for a Convention Center manager and\nother necessary personnel;\n(2) accept donations or grants for the maintenance and operation of\nthe Convention Center;\n(3) receive aid for the Convention Center from the federal\ngovernment, the State, counties, or municipalities;\n(4) set reasonable fees for the use of the Convention Center facilities;\n(5) grant, on the basis of competitive bidding, concessions on the\npremises of the Convention Center for the sale of food or beverages, including, subject\nto the Alcoholic Beverages Article, alcoholic beverages; and\n(6) perform any act necessary to operate the Convention Center.\n(b) The Mayor and City Council of Ocean City shall:\n(1) keep records of the Convention Center consistent with sound\nbusiness practice;\n(2) conduct an audit of the accounts of the Convention Center at the\nend of each calendar or fiscal year; and\n(3) submit to the Board of Public Works a detailed annual report on\nthe activities and finances of the Convention Center.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=18-203","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"613d9e2344015fcac59975b2abe507f856756daceb7a0bc84e01917809b74116","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-18-202","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-18-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
